As a contribution to the fight against COVID-19,Vivo Energy Botswana, the distributor and marketer of Shell branded fuels and lubricants in Botswana, has today contributed P100,000 worth of fuel to support the mobility of the Ministry of Health’s Emergency teams countrywide. The Shell Jeffmore, site retailer, Mr Mohammed Ismail also pledged fuel worth P25, 000.00 bringing the total fuel donation to P125, 000.00.

Vivo Energy Botswana aims to make a real and lasting difference to the communities in which it operates. Therefore as Vivo Energy Botswana, we will continue to engage with government and other stakeholders to offer support in dealing with this exceptional situation.

Mr. Wayne Kingwill, Managing Director, Vivo Energy Botswana said: “We have been monitoring the situation to ensure we have appropriate precautionary measures in place to first and foremost support the health and safety of our people in the context of our evolving environment. As a company that subscribes to the highest safety standards for our people and the environment, we view this as our patriotic duty to support the Government of Botswana to deal with COVID-19. We stand in solidarity with the government of Botswana and will continue doing our part to observe the prescribed safety protocols as set by our government and the World Health Organization”.

Vivo Energy Botswana would like to remind everyone that in light of COVID-19 outbreak, it is extremely important to follow all basic preventive measures as issued by the local Ministry of Health and World Health Organization, These include:

  • Washing your hands frequently with soap and water and use of sanitizer where available;
  • Covering your nose and mouth with a bent elbow or tissue when you sneeze or cough;
  • Avoiding touching your face;
  • Maintaining a social distancing protocols at all times;

Vivo Energy Botswana continues to appeal to the public to follow preventive guidelines issued by the World Health Organization and the local Ministry of Health in order to curb the spread of the virus.
