Vivo Energy, a Shell Licensee has opened its 114th service station in Thika on the Thika-Garissa highway. The station which will be known by the name of Jubilee service station is meant to serve motorists using the Thika-Garisaa highway and residents of Thika town and its environs. The station will be selling quality and differentiated fuel, lubricants, and kerosene.
Vivo Energy Kenya Managing Director, Mr. Polycarp Igathe who spoke during the unveiling said that Vivo Energy is on an aggressive expansion plan which will not only see an increase in its footprint in Kenya but also maintain and offer good quality services. “Vivo Energy Kenya has embarked in an expansion strategy. We are investing heavily in our storage and distribution network aimed at serving our customers better. Today’s opening of this 114th Station is a demonstration that we have a lot of confidence in the Kenyan economy and we are here for the long run.”
In 2013 Vivo Energy Kenya (VEK) will invest over USD 10million in its storage and distribution network. Other than the service station opened today, Vivo Energy Kenya invested USD 4million to upgrade the Nairobi Terminal storage capacity. This was is in line with Ministry of Energy policy of encouraging investment to assure security of fuel supply. In the recent past Vivo Energy Kenya has made enormous investments in service station, upgrading in which the same have been upgraded with a new look and feel. The upgrades now make Shell branded service stations warmer, brighter, and more welcoming to customers.
The new station will give direct employment to the youth within the area; thus economically empowering them. The employees will be working in the forecourt and the service bay areas. Services offered in this station and all our other stations will be on continuous improvement for the benefit of the customers
Jubilee Service station conforms to the required company standards and adheres to all safety requirements as per the company’s Health Safety Security &Environment policy (HSSE).
