Vivo Energy, the company that distributes and markets Shell branded fuels and lubricants in 16 African countries, has introduced a new advanced oil - Shell Oil Plus, for use by industries to run heavy machinery such as boilers and other equipment for generating heat and energy in the manufacturing process.

Shell Fuel Oil Plus helps improve the reliability and the performance of the entire boiler system in industrial machinery from the storage tank right to the chimney.

Shell Fuel Oil Plus is designed to improve fuel efficiency by up to 3%, lower emissions and black smoke by up to 70%, reduce maintenance expenses, increase equipment reliability, and lower Carbon dioxide emissions.

Speaking at the launch of the new oil at the Serena Hotel, The Managing Director Vivo Energy Uganda Hans Paulsen stated that the company is committed to continuous innovations, thus the efforts to develop Shell Oil Plus - an advanced fuel oil that reduces fuel-related emissions such as black smoke, soot and carbon dioxide.

"Through years of research and worldwide testing, we have developed an advanced fuel oil that burns better and cleaner, giving our industrial consumers the fuel that they need for their operations." He added.

He contnued to note that Fuel oil never burns completely and with time, industrial equipment can become less reliable as the build - up of deposits can lead to efficiency loss or costly maintenance and that Vivo Energy Uganda is committed to ensuring that these deposits are properly managed.

Hans further stated that  Vivo Energy Uganda is keen on advancing its products to give a better experience for the Ugandan market as manufacturers embrace Shell Fuel Oil Plus, which is now available countrywide.

“This fuel has been on the market, on order by a few customers, with Nile breweries limited as one of our current customers consuming Shell Oil Plus, and we are here today to announce to you that Shell Oil Plus is available to all other potential consumers.” Concluded Hans.

Other countries that are already using Shell FuelOil Plus include China, Malaysia, Mauritius, Philippines and Thailand.
