Vivo Energy Kenya, the company that distributes and markets Shell branded fuels and lubricants in the country, has today announced an 11 million (eleven million) Kenyan Shillings (US$ 120,000) sponsorship package - under its Shell V-Power brand - to the Kenya Motorsports Federation. The sponsorship will be for the 2015 and 2016 Kenya National Rally Championship events. The announcement was made during the launch of the 2015 KCB Safari Rally, and makes Vivo Energy Kenya the official fuel sponsor of the Kenya National Rally Championship.
In the past the Shell brand has had a long history of sponsoring the rally. The comeback this year is a response to our customers who use Shell products and a desire to support this significant event in the Kenya Motor Sports Federation calendar.
Speaking during the launch Managing Director Vivo Energy Kenya Mr Polycarp Igathe said, “Shell V-Power is designed to help engines deliver their full performance potential whatever the car, be it a standard road car or a championship-winning rally car. That is why we are delighted to be sponsoring the Kenya National Rally Championship. At Vivo Energy we take road safety very seriously. Through this sponsorship we plan to be at the forefront of talking about road safety for the drivers, officials and fans at every stage of the championship.”
He added, “Rally drivers, officials and fans use our products. As they participate in the rally - this year and going forwards - we want them to have fun, but exercise caution at every stage. The Kenya Motor Sports Federation is working towards having the KNRC back on the World Rally Championship circuit. Safety is a key aspect of ensuring this happens and Vivo Energy Kenya will work with the Federation to support this application.”
Shell V-Power actively cleans the engine and protects vital parts for better performance, giving drivers a more exciting drive. Shell V-Power is a 95 Octane unleaded high quality fuel that delivers improved responsiveness and power.
