Donaldo Salvador will be skating his way through Mozambique again
Vivo Energy Mozambique, company that distributes and markets Engen-branded fuels and the exclusive authorised Shell lubricants distributor in Mozambique, signed a memorandum of understanding with renowned inline skater Donaldo Salvador, to help him achieve his incredible exploit of skating from Niassa to Maputo, stopping in Engen service stations along the way to refuel and be greeted by enthusiastic customer champions and fans. Vivo Energy Mozambique has believed in the athlete since his first appearance two years ago, where he carried out the inline skating Marathon, first connecting Quelimane to Maputo and in the last one covering the distance between the province of Cabo Delgado and Maputo (Ponta do Ouro).

Since 2002, Donaldo has been inline skating and promoting this sport around the country. When he started, he never imagined that he could achieve such incredible distances. But thanks to his passion and determination, he now holds the record of the longest inline skating distance achieved in Mozambique. Donaldo is a man of vision, he encourages children and adults to join the movement: "in line skating is an incredible sport, and my wish is that more and more people join me so that together we can make this sport grow in the country and make Mozambique an international skating destination", he said.
Throughout his journey across the country, Donaldo will stop at Engen service stations to take a break and meet with young people. An opportunity to remind them that they can dream big, and sport is always the healthiest option. He admits that: “It gives you a sense of purpose, helps you get stronger and open new possibilities”. The same values of caring for the wellbeing of the community can be found at Vivo Energy Mozambique. The company employs local people and serve local businesses and individuals. Focusing on the people, the planet and building partnerships, the company’s aim is to engage with and support the development of the local partners and communities that help gain a better understanding of the needs and concerns of the people of Mozambique. Leading by example across the value chain is key to achieving the company’s vision of becoming the most respected energy business in Africa. The Managing Director of Vivo Energy Mozambique, Mr Moussa Konate strongly adheres to Donaldo’s vision: “We have a deep appreciation for the work that Donaldo has been developing and the constant challenges that he sets and overcomes, and we are certain that this partnership will be fruitful.”
Donaldo Salvador’s next challenge will be the marathon and this year, the route will be even longer, starting from Niassa to Maputo from 1 April to 25 June. His arrival at Zimpeto Engen service station coincides with the Independence Day and on this occasion, Donaldo will be bearing the torch of unity.
