Vivo Energy Kenya fuels optimism and excitement for potential Commercial Road Transport industry growth

Mombasa, June 2024 Vivo Energy Kenya, the company that distributes and markets Shell products and services in the country, hosted a pivotal Commercial Road Transport conference themed 'Driving the Future' in Mombasa on June 6, 2024.
The conference, a significant gathering of stakeholders from the National transport and safety authority (NTSA), the National environment management authority (NEMA), and critical transport industry players, was centered around industry trends, lower cost of ownership, sustainability, emissions regulations, and enhanced road safety.
The forum was a pivotal platform for envisioning a brighter future for the region's commercial transport sector, a vital lifeline for economies and communities. It focused in on the positive strides in modernising mobility through environmental sustainability.
Vivo Energy Kenya Managing Director Mr. Peter Murungi echoed that an efficient commercial transport network is critical to national and regional integration and an essential trade and economic driver.
"The commercial road transport industry remains a significant catalyst for any meaningful economic development and a realistic contribution to the objectives of Vision 2030. As Vivo Energy Kenya, we are proud to spearhead this process with our comprehensive product proposition, which includes a range of automotive fuels, lubricants, aviation fuels, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), and black fuels, all designed to promote sustainable practices in the sector." said Mr. Murungi.
The National transport and safety authority, a key player in the road safety landscape, remains a significant catalyst in road safety implementation, road safety information, and education. This is particularly crucial as an estimated 3,000 fatalities occur daily worldwide, with 1.3 million people killed on the roads annually and 50 million injured.
