Vivo Energy supplies marine services in eleven markets across Africa. Our marine bunkering operations (fuels and Shell marine lubricants) are located in Cape Verde, Guinea, Madagascar, Mauritius, Morocco, Namibia and Senegal. We also sell Shell marine lubricants (but not fuel) in Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya and Mozambique. We supply both marine fuels and lubricants to a growing number of private and merchant fleets as well as to naval customers and work to build partnerships with our marine customers, often by providing a range of technical services to complement our product offering.
Additionally, we supply unbranded marine fuels as well as a comprehensive Shell marine lubricants portfolio in the Shell-branded Markets, including high-performance diesel-engine cylinder oils, trunk-piston engine oils, environmentally sensitive lubricants and specialist greases. In the Engen-branded Markets, the Group sells Engen-branded marine fuels and lubricants in Gabon only.
Compliance with international standards is fundamental to how we do business, and ensures we uphold good relationships with our host countries and Commercial Customers and maintain our high supply standards. At the beginning of 2020, new marine fuel regulations came into force, lowering the global bunker fuel sulphur limit from 3.5% to 0.5%. We supported the change and had prepared our facilities. In accordance with MARPOL 2020, we now offer Low Sulphur Heavy Fuel Oil to our marine customers.
