Investing in our people through mindfulness sessions in Tunisia
As part of our Sustainability Week, which took place in the first week of June, Vivo Energy Tunisie hosted a transformative Tai Chi discovery session for the local team, aimed at promoting vitality and well-being under the People pillar of our Sustainability Framework.
Prioritising wellness through sport
At Vivo Energy, we believe in the power of sports to drive positive social impact, and that physical activity is a cornerstone of health and education.
To bring this philosophy to life, the Tunisia team had the privilege of welcoming Dr. Abdelaziz Hamdane - a practicing physician, Tai Chi master, and esteemed member of the Wushu Kung-fu Federation - to lead an introductory session.
This ancient internal martial art offered our colleagues a unique blend of gentle physical movement, deep breathing, and mindfulness, helping everyone present to release deep-seated muscle tension and recentre their minds.
Investing in our most precious resource
This hands-on experience provided our teams with practical, everyday techniques to foster a healthy balance between body and mind, something that colleagues were enthusiastic about.
Building on this feedback, the Tunisia team are starting to establish wellness sessions with local partners, such as healthcare facilities, across a range of specialities that people can easily practice in everyday attire – such as Tai Chi, guided stretching, yoga, and mindful breathing techniques. The goal is to help make wellbeing an integrated part of day-to-day life for our communities, as well as for our people.
The power of movement and mindfulness
By integrating a gentle movement practice into the day-to-day, Vivo Energy Tunisie is empowering our colleagues with tools for mindfulness and physical vitality, and ensuring our teams are energised to face tomorrow's challenges.
The original Tai Chi session was one of the highlights of our recent Sustainability Week, which took place under the theme “Kicking off for sustainability”. Through initiatives such as this, we illustrated the role of sport as a driver of social connection and wellbeing among our people.
