Sustainability Week – A gala match under the banner of cohesion
On 6 June 2026, at around 10 a.m., the ‘Ballon d’Or’ area in Angondjé, Gabon was transformed into a true hub for coming together and sharing. To mark the close of our Sustainability Week in Gabon, our colleagues and partners came together for a unifying sporting event, aimed at promoting well-being among our colleagues under the People pillar of our Sustainability Framework.
Team spirit at the heart of the commitment
On the pitch, two teams faced off: our colleagues from the Gabon head office and our retail teams from our service stations. While their jerseys set them apart, they were united by the same energy - one of cohesion, respect, and striving for excellence.
A dynamic inspired by major competitions
In an atmosphere inspired by major international competitions, this match reflects a sporting culture where unity transcends differences. Much like the world’s biggest football stages, every pass, every strategy, and every effort convey a shared determination to achieve a common goal. Beyond the competition, this initiative strengthened the bonds between our colleagues and partners, while promoting physical activity as a driver of social- and health-based sustainability impact within the company.
A powerful moment, beyond the score
As the game unfolded, our Gabon head office colleagues gradually gained the upper hand thanks to fluid organisation and strong technical control. The final score of 7–2 played out in a friendly atmosphere, punctuated by cheers and smiles. On the field, there are neither winners nor losers - only partners brought together around an authentic and unifying moment.
This match was one of the highlights of our recent Sustainability Week, which took place under the theme “Kicking off for sustainability”. Through initiatives such as this, we illustrated the role of sport as a driver of social connection and cohesion among our people.
