Shell Club celebrates Mother’s Day with support for new mothers at Pumwani Maternity Hospital
Nairobi, Kenya – 8 May 2026: Shell Club, a loyalty programme by Vivo Energy Kenya, the company that distributes and markets Shell products and services in the country, has today cleared outstanding medical bills for new mothers at the Pumwani Maternity Hospital in celebration of Mother's Day and recognition of the vital roles which mothers play in our society.
This initiative aligns with this year’s Mother's Day theme: "The Great Unburdening," which emphasises the importance of actively supporting mothers to ease their daily responsibilities and reduce emotional and social pressures.
Speaking on the initiative, Vivo Energy Kenya Managing Director Peter Murungi noted that this year Mother's Day theme strongly aligns with Vivo Energy’s core value of Caring: demonstrating care, empathy, and compassion, always treating employees, customers, communities, and the environment with respect and thoughtfulness.
“Motherhood is one of life’s most important journeys, and this Mother’s Day, we wanted to celebrate mothers in a meaningful and impactful way. Through the “Kameivana Na Shell Club” loyalty programme, we are proud to stand with families at Pumwani Maternity Hospital by easing some of the financial burden and sharing in their joy”, said Mr. Murungi.
The Shell Club loyalty programme goes beyond rewarding customers with points for purchase. It advances a social impact agenda by running initiatives that promote wellbeing and dignity of the community. The Club is committed to making a meaningful contribution across the country and will continue investing in health and seeking opportunities to drive social and economic progress.
