Namibia overview

Vivo Energy Namibia was established in October 2012 following the acquisition of Namibia’s downstream business from Shell. As the exclusive Shell Licensee, the company serves both retail and commercial market segments, supplying high-quality fuels and lubricants to key sectors of the economy including transport, construction, mining, and agriculture. Since its inception, Vivo Energy Namibia has achieved remarkable growth, with its retail network nearly doubling in size to become a market leader. Today, the company proudly offers Shell and Engen branded fuels and lubricants, operating an extensive network of strategically located service stations across the country, many of which feature Shell Cards and convenience retail stores designed to enhance customer experience. The company operates bulk oil storage terminals in Walvis Bay, Windhoek, Oranjemund, Tsumeb, and Ondangwa, ensuring efficient and reliable nationwide fuel supply. In 2023, Vivo Energy Namibia expanded its footprint in the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) market through the acquisition of GasIt and its existing LPG operations. Building on this momentum, Vivo Energy Namibia has invested in a new LPG filling plant in Tsumeb, with another planned for Windhoek, further enhancing accessibility and reliability of gas supply across the country. Beyond its core business, Vivo Energy Namibia continues to demonstrate strong social responsibility through its high-impact Community Investment Programme, which aims to create lasting social and economic benefits in the communities where it operates.
